They are also the most detailed I could find for the 770 Pros. I'm guessing you're referring to jaakkopasanen's EQ settings on Github, not Oratory's. The base value is already stated in the table to the left, but you can adjust the parameter (usually it's just the gain parameter that needs adjusting) as you see fit, maybe you prefer a value slightly different to the recommended one. ![]() To the right of that table there's a few statements that tell you which filter bands affect which aspect of the sound, and which parameters you need to adjust to your personal preference. So, since you have a parametric EQ, I recommend using these settings (as specified in the table at the bottom left): Naturally, a parametric EQ allows one to set up the EQ much more accurately. In comparison, a "graphic" EQ would have the frequency and q-factor fixed, allowing you to only change the gain of every filter band. These are what we call "parametric" equalizers (EQ), because they allow you to set a value for frequency, gain and q-factor for every single filter band. I assume you're using something like Peace GUI or EQ APO. Sorry like a lot of people I’m brand new to all this There's no reason to prefer gain values of 0 dB over any other parameters - whatever sounds the most transparent for you is the right value.Īgain: there's no reason to assume that 0 dB would be preferential. Hence why I recommend finetuning the gain parameters of some filters as outlined in the PDF. Harman's research did very clearly show this, especially for low frequencies.Īlso remember that headphones do have some part-to-part variation, meaning that the HD560S you have does not necessarily perform 100% identical to the ones that I measured, so some adjustment of the filters is probably needed anyway.
